A green buffalo with curved horns lifts his head alertly. Terra cotta background. Large Painting by artist Donald Ryker in textured expressionist impressionist art style with unique impasto glaze technique.
There is a dichotomy between the sense of massiveness and power in these huge horned herbivores and the peaceful presence they have. For me, green is a color between the boldness and fire of reds and oranges, and the deep colors of blue and purple. I can see why it is used to represent nature, and the environment and have used it to show the peace and earthiness of these animals. – Donald Ryker
