This image is of that moment in time when the light is starting to pierce the dark. The sun is rising, but the clouds are still hovering over the scene. You see shafts of light and the glow of light reflected on the clouds but the viewer is looking toward the light from darkness.
When I was 11 years old I had been taking a lot of medications and my body started to shut down. I wasn’t able to stay in school, my brain was fuzzy, and I had no energy. Most of my time was spent lying on the couch. The first ray of light came when I got my first service dog. Having her beside me made a huge difference. Over the next 3 years I knew I was getting better but I was in the dark looking towards the light for a very long time. — Donald Ryker
