As far back as I can remember, I always had a dog in my life, sometimes more than one! Our collie came to us when we weren’t looking for a dog. She escaped her yard when she became terrified of fireworks and we took her in. The next day we found her owner and returned her. We told him we would have kept her if we couldn’t find her real home because she was so great. Then, one day I was home from school with a broken arm and that same man came to our door. He could no longer keep his dog and wanted to know if we would adopt her. What a way to make a guy lying on the couch with a broken arm feel better! We were so excited and she became a new member of our family that day.
I have so many great memories of dogs and they have brought me companionship and fun. I try to bring share those qualities with my paintings.
